The stage of physical phenomena, spacetime, profoundly affects the behavior of the actors of physics, quantum particles and fields. As we unlock more of nature's secrets, we will see the prominent role of spacetime dimensions and how they affect physics at a fundamental level. Perhaps we will also discover how the dimensions and nature of spacetime can be derived / explained from a theory instead of being input as a free parameter.
